Leiomyoma
Definition:

Leiomyoma is a benign muscle neoplasm which may develop in any body organ but occurs mostly in the esophagus, small bowel and the uterus.

Treatment:

Leiomyoma is treated by medical administration of GnRH analogues in order to reduce the size of the myoma. The analogues are used for 3 to 6 months until the myoma will no longer grow back. Surgical treatment or myomectomy is also recommended when the patient wants to preserve his or her fertility. Total Abdominal or Vaginal hysterctomy accompanied by Bilateral Salpingo-oophorectomy is as well a good choice for treatment.
