Levator syndrome
Definition:

The Levator syndrome is a series of episodic rectal discomfort.


Treatment:

Levator syndrome can be treated by walking and pelvic exercises, as well as massage treatments in the affected muscles, biofeedback and warm baths. Botulin toxin A or botox is also sometimes used.


Symptoms and Signs:

Symptoms of the Levator syndrome include pain in the rectum as well as constant pressure and burning sensations in the rectal area.


Causes:

The actual cause of the discomfort is unknown.
