Otosclerosis
Definition:

Otosclerosis is defined as a genetically-mediated metabolic bone disoder that primarily affects the otic capsule and the ossicles. The mode of inheritance of this disease is autosomal dominant, and more women are prone to be a victim of this disease than men. Otosclerosis is largely associated with hearing loss that typically develops during the third decade of the patient's life.


Diagnosis:

The primary medical tool used to diagnose this disease is through the use of tuning forks to effectively reveal conductive hearing loss. The wenber test may also be perform as well as some thorough physical examination.


Treatment:
