Definition:
Tongue neoplasm is a new abnormal tongue tissue that grows by excessive cellular division and proliferation more rapidly than normal and continues to grow after the stimuli that initiated the new growth cease.
Diagnosis:
Tongue neoplasm may be diagnosed with an oral examination
Treatment:
Tongue neoplasm may be treated with surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms of tongue neoplasm include: mouth ulcer, throat pain, sore throat, dysphagia, bleeding, throat ulcer, ulcerated sore on tongue, sore tongue, bleeding tongue lesion, reduced tongue movement, painful tongue lesion, and tongue lesion that fails to heal.
Causes:
The exact cause of tongue neoplasm is unknown, but several risk factors have been identified, such as smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol.
