Definition:
A rare congenital disease, Umbilical cord ulceration and intestinal atresia can lead to severe intrauterine hemorrhage. There have only been 15 reported cases for the disorder though newer studies are beginning to conclude that it has a higher incidence rate than has been previously reported. One study is said to have established intestinal atresia and umbilical cord ulceration a clear link after 5 cases were reported at the time of publication.
