Definition:
Cerebral edema is an inflammation of the brain tissue due to pressure brought about by massive fluids that are collected within the brain. This condition can cause neurological problems and eventual death.
Diagnosis:
Cerebral edema can be diagnosed by CT scans.
Treatment:
Once diagnosed, treatment can be done by surgery.
Symptoms and Signs:
Among the symptoms of the condition are frequent migraines, headache and sudden, severe pain in the different parts of the brain.
Causes:
Cerebral edema can be caused by other underlying diseases such as coronary problems or liver failure. It can also be due to the excessive production of cranial fluids that circulate in the brain.
