Definition:
Bare lymphocyte syndrome 2 or the other term for the disease is Defective expression of HLA class 2. BLSII genetic basis is not because of the gene MHC II. The result of the mutations in genes is used as the genetic basis that codes for proteins that usually control the expression if the MHC II genes.

Bare lymphocyte syndrome type 2 is categorized as a “rare disease” according to the Office of Rare Diseases (ORD) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This indicates that Bannayan-Zonana syndrome or a subtype of Bannayan-Zonana syndrome affects not more than 200,000 individuals in the US population.

Complications:
If the disease is not treated early it may lead to an infant’s death.
