Definition:
Nearsightedness otherwise known as the myopia is a condition whereby the person can see clearly the objects near him clearly but not those which are far away which are usually blurred.

Diagnosis includes undergoing eye examination with an ophthalmologist and optometrist and and Optician.
Treatment:
Treatment includes wearing corrective lenses such as eye glasses and contact lenses, undergoing to refractive surgery which may includes Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis or LASIK , Laser assisted Supepithelial Keratomileusis or LASEK and Photorefractive Keratectomy or PRK and undergoing Anterior Chamber Intraocular or IOL implant.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms includes blurry vision of objects that are distant, squinting in order to see distant objects clearly and headache.
Causes:
Nearsightedness or Myopia is said to be caused when the cornea is unusually curved so instead of the light being focused on the retina, the light is focused in front of the retina which causes the blurriness of the objects that are distant.
