Nonulcer Stomach Pain is a medical condition where there is a disorder of the uppe gastrointestinal system which can cause that of the symptoms of peptic ulcer. It is thus, characterized by a gnawing and discomfort in the upper abdomen but there is absence of ulcer and other problem in the digestive system.
Diagnosis:
Diagnosis includes physical examinations, undergoing laboratory tests such as blood tests, barium x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound and gastric emptying study.
Treatment:
Treatment includes administration of antacids which neutralizes acid in the stomach, acid blockers such as cimetidine and acid suppressors and antibiotic treatments for possible infections.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms includes bloating, belching, an early feeling of fullness and burning sensation or discomfort in the upper abdomen or lower chest.
Causes:
The exact cause of Nonulcer Stomach Pain is not yet known but it is said to be caused by viral infections.
