Definition:
Tethered spinal cord syndrome otherwise known as the Occult Spinal Dysraphism Sequence is a neurological disorder that is caused by tissue attachments causing preventing movement of spinal cord within the spinal column.
Diagnosis:
Diagnosis is made through physical examination as well as undergoing imaging tests such as X-rays and CT Scan.
Treatment:
Treatment includes surgical procedure to correct and prevent neurological deterioration.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms includes lesions, hairy patches, scoliosis, back pain, weakness of the legs, foot and spinal deformities and fatty tumours.
Causes:
It is caused by tissue attachments causing preventing movement of spinal cord within the spinal column.
