Upper Respiratory Tract Infections
Definition:

Upper Respiratory Tract Infections or URTI or URI refers to the sickness caused by an acute infection that usually involves the upper respiratory tracts like the nose, pharynx, larynx and the sinuses.


Diagnosis:

Diagnosis is made through the physical examination and examination of the sputum.


Treatment:

Treatment includes administration of antibiotics, complete rests, increased in fluids.


Symptoms and Signs:

The symptoms of Urinary Tract Infections include rhinosinusitis or common cold, tonsilitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, nasal congestion, running nose, sore throat, fever, facial pressure and sneezing.


Causes:

It is said to be caused by an acute infection of the upper respiratory tracts. Group A Streptococcus in Streptococcal pharyngitis may are some of the bacteria that causes an acute pharyngitis which is also classified as an upper respiratory infection. It may also be caused by an infection of the ear.
