Nicholas Favre Disease
Definition:

Nicholas-favre disease, also known as lymphogranuloma venereum, is a sexually transmitted disease characterized by genital ulcers. It can affect the lymph nodes and cause serious problems in the bloodstream.


Diagnosis:

Diagnostic tests for the disease include serological examinations as well as needle biopsy to study the ulcers.


Treatment:

Nicholas-favre disease can be treated with antibiotic therapies such as tetracycline and doxicycline.


Symptoms and Signs:

The signs that indicate the onset of the disease are ulcers that develop in the male and female genitalia, abscesses in the groin as well swelling of the esopharyngeal area.


Causes:

The disease is caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trichomasis; it is sexually transmitted.
