Rib-gap syndrome, also known as cerebrocostomandibular syndrome, is a rare autosomal recessive disorder that features an abnormally small jaw, deformed upper jaw, a refracted tongue, and rib dysplasia. These deformities usually lead to respiratory problems as well as moderate to severe mental retardation.
