Definition:
Cardiac syndrome X is a kind of chest pain associated with reduced blood flow to the heart but the coronary arteries remain normal. This disorder is found to be an effect of other vasospastic problems such as Raynaud’s phenomenon and migraine.
Diagnosis:
Cardiac syndrome X is diagnosed by appropriate stress testing and a coronary angiogram to exclude other possible conditions that cause chest pain.
Treatment:
This disorder responds effectively with calcium channel blockers, nitrates and beta blockers.
Symptoms and Signs:
The main sign of the sickness is chest pain. Migraine can also occur in this state.
