Irregular Heartbeat
Definition:

Arrhythmia, also known as an irregular heartbeat, is a condition where the heart beats either lower or faster than the normal heart beat of 50 to 100 beats per minute. Arrhythmias can occur even to those people with regular heart rate.


Diagnosis:

Arrhythmias can be diagnosed by pulse rate measurements.


Treatment:

The condition can be treated depending on the cause. For blood clot-related arrythmias, anticoagulants are given. Meanwhile to maintain a normal heart beat one must take regular exercise and proper diet.


Symptoms and Signs:

The symptoms of arrhythmia include palpitations, restlessness, shortness of breath and anxiety.


Causes:

Arrhythmias are caused by a variety of causes. Heart disease, respiratory problems as well as a sudden burst of emotions can lead to arrhythmias.
