X-Linked Agammaglobulinemia
Definition:

X-linked agammaglobulinemia otherwise known as X-linked hypogammaglobulinemia, or the XLA, Bruton type agammaglobulinemia is a medical condition that is characterized by the disorder in the X-link genes that results into the body's ability to fight infection.


Diagnosis:

Diagnosis is made through Western Blot test, blood tests and genetic blood testing.


Treatment:

Treatments includes administration of intravenous fusion of immunoglobulin or IVIg antibodies. Subcutaneous treatments and administration of antibiotics are also advised.


Symptoms and Signs:

Symptoms includes occurrence of infections.


Causes:

It is caused by the mutation in the X-chromosome of a gene. It is said to be an inherited or genetic disease of the immune system.
