Definition:
Eagle-Barrett syndrome, also known as the prune belly syndrome, is a rare disease characterized by impaired abdominal muscles and underdeveloped parts of the urinary tract.
Diagnosis:
Eagle-Barrett syndrome can be diagnosed during pregnancy via ultrasound and X-ray procedures.
Treatment:
There is no standard treatment for the Eagle-Barrette syndrome. Antibiotics meanwhile are only given to patients with respiratory infections.
Symptoms and Signs:
The symptoms of the disease include scoliosis, dislocated hipbone, cardio-pulmonary problems, club foot, and complications in the gastrointestinal tract.
Causes:
The exact cause of the illness is still undetected.
