Definition:
Chlamydia Pneumoniae otherwise known as the Chlamydophila Pneumoniaw is a type of chlamydiae bacteria that causes pneumonia.
Diagnosis:
Diagnosis is made through physical examination, laboratory examination of sputum and examination of the blood through the use of a direct fluorescent antibody testing, the use of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay or ELISA for brevity, and polymerase chain reaction testing or PCR for brevity. X-ray may also be used to show the small patches caused by the bacteria.
Treatment:
Treatment includes administration of antibiotics against bacteria such as macrolide, azithromycin or clarithromycin, and undergoing Empiric therapy.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms includes coughing, fever, difficulties in breathing, sinusitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, chilling, weakness and sudden weight loss.
Causes:
Chlamydia Pneumoniae is said to be caused by chlamydiae bacteria.
