Coccyx Injury
Definition:

Coccyx Injury is an injury that affects the final pointy portion or the tailbone of the backbone that is usually cause by bruising, dislocation and fracture of the tailbone.


Diagnosis:

Diagnosis is made through the physical examination of the patient especially the tailbone and undergoing imaging tests such as X-ray test.


Treatment:

Treatment includes administration of medications that is designed to relieve and lessen pain, application of ice and hot packs ,use of cushions when sitting and physical therapy.


Symptoms and Signs:

Symptoms includes pain when passing stone, pain while sitting and walking, and bruising in the tailbone area.


Causes:

It is said to be cause by muscle strain and disk herniation, malalignment of the backbone, scoliosis, hyperlordosis, urinary tract infection, tumors, bone marrow infiltration and even menstrual cramps.
