Definition:
Cough otherwise known as the Tussis a medical term used to refer to the sudden and often repetitive spasmodic contraction of the thoracic cavity which results to the release of air from the lungs which accompany a distinct sound. It is usually the body reaction and way to get rid of irritating the passageways of breathing and to clear up the build up of phlegm in the trachea.

Diagnosis:
Coughing may be diagnosed through the physical examination and undergoing chest X-ray. Examination of sputum under the microscope is also advised in order to know what is causing the cough.
Treatment:
Treatment includes oral administration of cough medicinees such as cough suppressants or those antitussives, codeine and dextromethropan to reduce the cough, Some treatment advise the consumption of dark chocolate inasmuch as it contains theopbromine which is said to be an effective treatment for persistent cought.
Symptoms and Signs:
The symptoms of cough is the burst of a distinctive sound which is usually spasmodic and repetitive.
Causes:
Coughing is said to be caused by the blocking of the air passageways usually by phlegm in the treachea. It may also be a result of a bolus of food entering the trachea rather than the esophagus.
