Definition:
Cranial Neuralgia is the medical condition characterized by the inflammation of a nerve in the head or the face.
Diagnosis:
Diagnosis is made through physical examination and review of medical history of the patient and undergoing several tests such as blood testing and neurological examination.
Treatment:
Treatment includes administration of analgesic medications, anti-convulsant to lessen the pain and in some cases nu surgery to remove tumors and lesions.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms includes pain in the face, eye and facial numbness and weakness includeing sensation of facial fullness.
Causes:
Cranial Neuralgia is said to be caused by physical trauma and nerve compression. It may also be caused by other conditions such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis and Lyme disease.
