Cytomegalic Inclusion Body Disease
Definition:

Cytomegalic inclusion body disease or CIBD for brevity is a medical condition that is due to an infection from the virus named cytomegalic or CMV which is a type of herpes virus that usually lie dormant after infection and only be reactivate periodically. Cytomegalic Inclusion Body Diseases usually causes the enlargement of cells of organs and the occurrence of inclusion bodies or those discrete cellular mass the cytoplasm or nucleus.


Diagnosis:

Diagnosis is made through blood tests.


Treatment:

Treatment includes administration of cyclovir, valganciclovir,ganciclovir,cidofovir and foscarnet.


Symptoms and Signs:

Symptoms includes fatigue, nausea, vomiting, pain in the bone, diarrhea, jaundice, fever, dyspnoea, hepatomegaly and splenomegaly.


Causes:

Cytomegalic Inclusion Body Disease is said to be cause by the cytomegalic virus.
