Definition:
Dientamoeba Fragilis is a parasite that are considered single cells that infects the gastrointestinal tracts of humans. It is usually the cause of Dientamoebiasis.
Diagnosis:
Diagnosis is made through blood tests and examinations of stool samples.
Treatment:
Treatment includes administration of antibiotics and anti-diarrheal medications.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms of the infection includes abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea and weight loss.
Causes:
The infection is directly cause by the Dientamoeba Fragilis which is a type of trichomonad.
