Definition:
Adamantiades-Behcet’s disease (ABD) is a recurring form of vasculitis characterized by genital ulcers, skin lesions, arthritis and thrombophlebitis. This disease occurs mainly in areas such as the Mediterranean, Far East and the Middle East. ABD can also cause eye defects that can lead to blindness. Drugs such as steroids azathioprin are given to treat the illness. The exact causes of this disease are still unknown.
