Definition:
Endometritis refers to the infection of the endometrium or the decidua extending to the myometrium and parametrial tissues.
Diagnosis:
Diagnosis is made through blood counting and test, undergoing imaging tests such as CT Scan and sonographic findings of the abdomen and endometrial biopsy.
Treatment:
Treatment includes administration of clindamycin and gentamicin and undergoing surgical treatment and dilatation and curettage.
Symptoms and Signs:
Symptoms includes occurrence of fever, lower abdominal pain, foul smelling lochia, abnormal bleeding and discharge, dyspareunia, malaise, lower abdominal pain, uterine tenderness and tachycardia.
Causes:
Endometritis is caused by the infection in the endometrium.
