Definition:

Marie-Sainton disease, also known as cleidocranial dysplasia, is a condition where a person is able to bend his shoulder due to missing bones.


Diagnosis:

Genetic testing is used to diagnose the disease.


Treatment:

There is no specific treatment for the disease; patients can still live normal lives without treatment. Dental care meanwhile is highly recommended.


Symptoms and Signs:

The symptoms of the disorder are the ability to exert flexibility in the bones and joints. Abnormal growth of teeth is also observed.


Causes:

The condition is characterized by a missing collar bone-the collar bone can affect not just the functions of the skull but also the lower areas such as the chest and pelvis. The disease is caused by a genetic defect in the chromosome 6.
