Definition:
Master’s disease, also known as Southern Tick-Associated Rash Illness, is a condition similar to Lyme disease. This disease is caused by the bites of the lone star tick.
Diagnosis:
Laboratory tests are done to rule out Lyme disease in this condition, since both diseases share nearly the same symptoms.
Treatment:
The disease is treated with oral antibiotics.
Symptoms and Signs:
Among the symptoms of master’s disease include the read, expanding lesions, fatigue, headache, muscle pain and fever. This disease does not propose any links with arthritic, chronic and neurological symptoms.
Causes:
The exact causes as to how the bites of the lone star tick lead to this condition are still unknown.
