Canine Inherited Demyelinative Neuropathy
Definition:

Canine inherited demyelinative neuropathy is an inherited condition affecting the nervous system of Tibetan Mastiff puppies. The puppies are born normal, but the disease occurs usually when puppies reach six or seven weeks of age.


Treatment:

There is no known treatment for this condition. All affected puppies die by the time they reach four months old.


Symptoms and Signs:

Puppies suffer from weakness on their rear legs, which may progress to the paralysis of the hindquarters.


Causes:

Canine inherited demyelinative neuropathy is genetic.
