Definition:
Cat skin disorder is the most common cat health disorder. The coat and cat’s skin is also an important sign of its health in general. Cat skin disorder and be differentiated to self-limiting, acute to long lasting or chronic. This requires long-term medication and treatment.
Diagnosis:
Feline disorders have been a challenge to veterinarians. Though skin disorders in cats are specified, they may all have the same signs and reaction pattern. Examples are alopecia or hair loss and crusts and scrubs or military dermatitis.
Treatment:
Feline skin disorder treatment is possible, especially if the disorder cause is allergy. It is appropriate to inject a large amount of allergen and considered the most appropriate approach if the cats suffers long allergy season.
Anti-histamine is also considered and so as corticosteroid although steroids believe to have side effects
Symptoms and Signs:
Cat skin disorder shows non-seasonal itching in areas with less fur; this includes the toes, shin, ear, anus and the belly. Inflammation or redness will also appear and so as blisters.
Causes:
Cats are very vulnerable to skin disorder. Problems are usually because of allergies, ringworm, fleas and acne.
These causes tend to make your cat scratch compulsively ruining the coat and hair.
