Catalepsy
Definition:

Catalepsy is a medical condition used to refer to muscular rigidity, fixed posture and the decreased sensitivity to pain. It is also used to refer that kind of hyponotism where by the patient's arm and leg becomes rigid.


Diagnosis:

Diagnosis is made through physical examination of the patient and observing the symptoms as they manifest.


Treatment:

Treatment includes administration of therapy that focus more on the control of muscles.


Symptoms and Signs:

Symptoms includes rigidity of the person's arms, legs, lack muscle control, slowing of bodily functions and difficulty in breathing.


Causes:

Catalepsy is a said to be caused of a controllable mental state and is also linked to the condition of Parkinson's disease and epilepsy.
