Definition:
Cellulitis is also referred to as skin infection – bacteria. Cellulitis is disperse or spreading of skin infection. This bacterial skin infection appears as a swollen, red area of skin that feels hot and tender, and it may spread quickly. It is a serious inflammation of the connective tissue of the skin caused by infection with streptococcus, staphylococcus or other bacteria.
Diagnosis:
Your doctor will be doing physical examinations. The manifestation of your skin will help your doctor make an analysis. Your doctor will be suggesting also blood tests.
Treatment:
Antibiotics may be given by your doctor hypodermically for the first 24 to 72 hours and it is followed by oral antibiotics. Oral antibiotics are only required in mild cases.
Symptoms and Signs:
The skin becomes swollen and red. It is both warm and painful to the touch. And it is sometimes accompanied by malaise, fever, headache, and chills. Other signs of infection are warm skin sweating, fatigue, muscle aches and pains, and general ill feeling.
Causes:
This bacterial skin infection occurs when one or more types of bacteria enter through a crack or break in your skin. When there is a break in the skin, bacteria can enter the body and nurture there and it can cause inflammation and infection.
