Central Pain Syndrome
Definition:

Central Pain Syndrome is a medical term used to refer to a neurological condition that is caused by the damage ti the central nervous system.


Diagnosis:

Diagnosis is made through physical examination of the patient including undergoing series of tests including EEG, ECG and imaging tests like CT Scan and MRI.


Treatment:

Treatment includes administration of medication to alleviate the pain and sedation.


Symptoms and Signs:

Symptoms includes occurrence of pain and burning sensations, numbness of the affected area,needle-like tingling, and loss of touch.


Causes:

Central Pain Syndrome is said to be caused by the damage to the central nervous system especially that of the brain. It is most common in person who suffered already from strokes, sclerosis, limb amputations or spinal and brain injuries.
