Cepahalic Tetanus
Definition:

Cepahalic Tetanus is an infectious disorder whereby there is the presence of bacteria that release neurotoxin. It is usually an infection that targets the head and brain region.


Diagnosis:

Diagnosis includes the physical examination and undergoing series of tests such as blood tests and other imaging test such as MRI and CT Scan to determine the presence and extent of the medical condition.


Treatment:

Treatment includes administration of tetanus toxoid, antibiotics, tetanus antitoxin and undergoing debridement to ensure the toxin causing the bacteria has been removed.


Symptoms and Signs:

Symptom includes manifestations associated with tetanus like fever, chilling and weakness.


Causes:

Cephalic Tetanus is said to be caused by an infection of the head and brain region. It is usually associated with otitis media.
